In India, post offices play a very important role in rural areas. They connect the people of the rural areas with the rest of the country. People find it cheap to send letters through post office and post office is very reliable also. I have also availed the services of post office many times in the past to send documents through registered post. It was definitely cheap and the document definitely reaches on time at the destination.
But nowadays due to the advent of telephone and internet we hardly use postal services as these are faster means of communication. The only use the postal services have these days is to send items such as bridal jewellery, clothing etc - and NOT actual letters.
Moreover to avail the services of post office we have to go to the post office or to the letter box to drop the letters. This was very time consuming whereas nowadays we can do everything like giving a mail by sitting at the comfort of the house. I hardly use the postal service's nowadays as I find that I don't have time to go to post office to send something. |

My favorite shoes are a pair of brown, suede, Teva brand clogs. I have worn them for ten years, and they still look like they are almost new. I think they also make for cheap kids shoes and have bought a pair for my daughter too. I sprayed them with waterproofing spray so I can wear them everywhere, even if it is raining or snowing. I like wearing shoes that don't have any laces. I can just slip on my clogs and go anywhere. The heel part of the shoe is built up higher with the rubber soles, so my feet don't get sore or tired. The top of the clogs have a stylish zipper. I have not seen any other clogs like them. I wear them shopping, hiking, and travelling. They are great to wear to the airport, because I can easily slip them off when I go through security. I have thought about replacing my clogs, but I like them too much. I hope I can wear them for another ten years. |

There are a few fashion items that I would rather not be without earrings, decent pair of flat boots, evening bags, plain fitted tops to name but a few, but my without-a-doubt cant-live-without item has to be skinny jeans! Any colour really, but a nice plain 'jeans-coloured' pair can go with anything, anytime of the year! If I'm on the school run and it's a nice day: skinnies/flats and fitted t-shirt. If I'm going out clubbing: skinnies/killer heels/blinging jewellery and maybe a boob-tube type top never fails to impress! Cold outside? Going late-night shopping? Skinnies/over-the-knee flat boots and a nice chunky cardi are perfect! Park with the kids? I just chuck on some dark-coloured skinnies (grass-stains!!)/converse boots and a fitted hoody good to go! I know styles come and go (believe me, I've had many different styles not all good either!), but I love my skinny jeans and I can't ever imagine a time when I look at them and think "Oh my God how could I have worn them and thought I looked good..??!", as often happens with favourite fashion items throughout the years (ie. mc Hammer-style trousers, dodgy denim jackets and ridiculously high platform (school!)shoes to name but a few..! Ok, jeggings are cool but I hate the name and you just can't beat a good pair of (skinny) jeans!

I'm going to tell you a story about a magical dress. I was walking down the street when I saw it in a store window. It stood out from the granny wardrobe surrounding it. It was too unusual, too tiny, too green. It was loose on the top, tight around the waist and the skirt was too short and slightly ruffled. I'll repeat again, it was very, very green. I passed by that store few more times and I couldn't keep my eyes off it - I knew they would go well with my gladiator sandals. One day I decided to buy it, not planning to wear it at all. Still, I tried it on for size and I was flabbergasted! It suited me perfectly, it even made me look some 10 pounds slimmer. The owner of the store was speechless when she saw me wearing it, she urged me not to take it off and leave the store wearing it, and I did. Walking down the street in that dress felt like gliding. Few heads did turn. I bought it 6 years ago and it's still in pristine shape because I've only worn it 5-6 times. You're wondering what's so magical about it? In those 6 years I've gained some weight, lost some and repeated the whole cycle over again, but every time I put on that dress it fits perfectly. Every time I wear it I feel young and slim as I was on the day I bought it. |
